Project Title: Thuong Cat Port
Sector: Inland Waterway Port / Inland Container Depot (ICD)
Location: Thuong Cat Ward, Hanoi
Estimated Investment Capital: VND 1,200 billion
Implementation Period: 2025 – 2030
Form of Investment: Non-Budgetary Capital (Private Investment)
Project Objectives
Leverage strategic trade location to connect the region for cargo transport, especially construction materials. The port’s stable water area, with adequate width and depth, will accommodate cargo vessels and barges of 1,000–3,000 tons without disrupting inland waterway traffic, while complying with dyke laws, flood prevention planning, and Red River dyke regulations.
Develop port facilities with warehouse systems for transshipment between inland waterway and road transport. Provide warehousing, storage, packaging, distribution, and transportation services for nearby industrial zones. This will enhance inland waterway transport quality, gradually develop modern logistics services, and reduce cargo handling and transport costs, increasing throughput at the port.
Integrate port development with environmental protection, aiming toward green logistics.
